The period during Clement's election was called long exile of the ancient Jews in Babylon. The papacy into the executive office of the council and subordinated the pope to more authority. Avignon papacy said there was abuse of money. This caused them to replace founds and raised new ones. On April 18th a new pope was elected. Clement later on moved to italy and then to France.
